Monies to Assist in Expansion of their Program
WR and Floy A. Sauey Family Foundation (Baraboo, WI), the charitable arm of Nordic Group of Companies, Ltd. has made a donation of $20,000 to Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy based in Madison, Georgia. Nordic Group is the parent company of Flambeau, Inc. located in Madison, Georgia and headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Betsy Wagenhauser, President of Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy stated, "We are beside ourselves with joy for this wonderful gift from the W.R. and Floy A. Sauey Family Foundation! I wish you, the foundation and all the attendees of the golf outing could know firsthand the level of impact this will have for the children reached by our literacy program across the state. In the past year, our program has grown by more than 5000 children and we have added 8 new participating counties. We see standardized test scores continue to improve every year in the schools that our Ferst program graduates attend. Parents and teachers alike tell us every day the difference it makes when there are books in the home and children are read to regularly."
